SUBJECT:  FRACTURED BELT HOOK ON HANDLE

DESCRIPTION

The belt hook on the handle may become fractured under the following conditions. (See Figure 1.)

  An excessive shock (approximately 100G or more) is applied to the belt hook.

  The camera is carrying an extra load totaling approximately 10 kg or more, and the total load is applied to the belt hook for an extended period of time.

Inspect the belt hook as follows, and replace the handle sub assembly if necessary.

MODIFICATION PROCEDURE

1.Inspect the belt hook shaft (two pieces) for wear and abrasion. (See Figure 2.)

2.If the diameter of the shaft is 5.2 mm or less, replace the handle sub assembly with a new one. (See Figure 3.)
NOTE: The diameter of the shaft when shipped from the factory is 5.9 mm.
