Repair Solution |
Common Capacitors to Check/Replace |
| E01 / PROTECT |
Speaker protection triggered (DC offset, overcurrent) |
Check output transistors for shorts. Test DC offset at speaker terminals (should be <50mV). Inspect driver transistors and small signal transistors on amp board. |
Power supply filter caps, small electrolytics on protection circuit board. |
| E02 / TEMP |
Amplifier overheating |
Clean dust from heatsinks and internal fans. Ensure fans are operational. Check for failing output transistors causing excess heat. |
Not primarily a cap issue, but check caps on fan power supply board if present. |
| No Display / No Power |
Unit completely dead |
Check main AC fuse. Test standby power supply for +/- 5V or 3.3V. Inspect for bulging/leaking primary power supply capacitors. |
Main filter caps (high value, high voltage), smaller electrolytics on standby power supply. |
| Intermittent Operation |
Audio cuts in/out, random faults |
Reseat all internal ribbon cables and connectors. Check for cold solder joints, especially on large power supply pins and transformer connections. |
All electrolytic capacitors on main power supply and amplifier modules. ESR meter testing recommended. |
